“Rob is definitely my hero!”
“In March 2011, I had trained myself using a magazine programme to run a full marathon in Barcelona for the charity Help for Heroes. I was so proud of myself for completing the marathon and for raising over £1800 for such a great charity. I had the bug for training and wanted to raise even more money for the charity. I didn’t have much knowledge of exercise or diet and nutrition, so I searched for a personal trainer who might be able to help me.
I came across several on the Internet but the one that I wanted to contact most of all was Rob. Although he was an hour away from me (I live in March – Cambridgeshire), the fact he held the world record for the Plank exercise in 2010, and that he had 30 years knowledge of diet nutrition and exercise meant to me that this man must be special, and above all that he would be the one to help me do something extraordinary. After just a few training sessions with him I knew I had made the right decision as I found myself losing weight and gaining a strength inside of me I never even knew I had.
In November 2011, I decided to run a full marathon whilst carrying a soldier’s back pack. I was told that this was a crazy thing for a soldier to do, let alone a young female with not much training, and that I would never complete my goal.
However, Rob believed in me and always said that practically anything is possible with enough hard work and determination. He trained me every week making sure my back and core would be able to carry the weight safely over 26 mile run. He gave me instructions to perform exercises that I never dreamed I could manage yet somehow every week I did, and thereafter Rob would email me at home always congratulating me for what I had achieved in our sessions. Little wonder that as the weeks passed I became so much stronger, both mentally and physically.
I was advised by an army Personal Trainer to load my back pack with 14 kilos and he showed me the best way to do this to avoid injury. He actually said ‘I don’t think you will finish’ but Rob believed I was ready for the race and that I could achieve my goal.
In the event I finished the marathon in less than five and a half hours, carrying my back pack the entire distance without stopping. Even though I was bleeding where the back pack rubbed me and my feet were badly blistered, I just kept on going. In the end I raised £3000 for the Help for Heroes – I put this down to Rob’s training techniques and his belief in me as a person. The journey was hard and there were numerous days when I simply didn’t want to train, but Rob always helped me through and told me never to quit. How could I give in with that level of support behind me? Since completing my last marathon I have become a Help for Heroes coordinator for Cambridgeshire and have changed so much as person since I met Rob – he has really inspired me!
Not only did Rob help me to achieve my goal, but he also helped my husband to lose over 2 stones in weight on his Accelerated Fat Loss Program. My husband had never stuck to a diet before and was very over weight, but with Rob’s program he lost this staggering amount of weight whilst being coached remotely on the internet. Rob is a truly amazing guy and has made such a difference to so many lives, including my own and my husband’s too.
I am now planning to ride from Paris to London for Help For Heroes so will be calling on Rob once again for his training expertise as I need to know that I will be able complete the ride and raise some more money for my chosen charity. Rob is definitely my hero!””

I started training with Stamford Personal Fitness with some trepidation and anxiety. I have struggled with my weight off and on all my life, never followed an exercise programme for any length of time and have led a fairly unhealthy existence. I was also anxious to commit to something that I thought I might fail at as I have tried to lose weight and get fit so many times before. After a discussion with Rob, I set myself two mains goals: to lose weight and to learn how to run.
The weight loss is a long term goal that I now see as a permanent outcome of a good nutrition plan and a great exercise programme. It is not a diet and I hardly ever weigh myself though Rob monitors my progress on a regular basis. The weight has come off gradually and sensibly compared to the yoyo dieting I have done before and people are regularly telling me how amazing I look which feels great! I have gone down two dress sizes and I can now see a way to get to the size I want to be.
With regard to my running, I am even happier still. I started to run only 9 weeks ago but could only manage to run 100 metres. Rob’s training programmes have been varied and fun and they have helped me to exceed my own expectations. Though my original goal was to complete an official race, last week I ran my first ever race (a 4k run) which was performed at full pelt. I was elated to receive a medal having given my all and to know that I am now capable of running almost twice that distance in training. Such is my new found confidence that I have just committed to run a half marathon this time next year and I will execute my plan to run it in a good time, not just finish the race.
I could never have gotten this far on my journey without Rob as he has provided a structure and an environment for me to achieve my goals. He has given me strong direction and coaching to push me to realise these goals and I have never felt more motivated and more confident as a result. The best thing is that there is still more work to do and much more to look forward to as my fitness level continues to improve, and I drive myself and my body to be as fit and healthy as possible.

“As a 30 something lady with 2 young children I have always managed to find time to work-out and over the years, I have become increasingly involved with weights and body building.
