When I created Stamford Boot Camp in the summer of 2010, I could never have dreamed that it would be so popular and how high my client retention rates would be. What makes this particular group fitness program so special is the innovative nature of the exercises, the humour of its participants, and the warm welcome and support that newcomers receive. People keep coming back for more because of the friendships that are created, and the results that they achieve. These Boot Camps are truly one of a kind!

Scheduled Fit Camp is a non-residential fitness program for people of all ages, body types and fitness levels with instruction that will motivate you to perform to your optimum level. The aim is to get participants into the great outdoors during the warmer months, to enjoy themselves with friends, family or new acquaintances in pleasant local surroundings - away from the hurly burly of the gym. The great thing is that Boot Camp training works equally well during the colder months in a cosier indoor environment so it is a year round pursuit. I will show you that exercise can be fun, exhilarating, diverse, morale boosting and most importantly, effective.

You might have weight to lose but lack the motivation to get started or perhaps you just feel like life has become one long drudge? Maybe you wish to look great for a special occasion like a wedding or a holiday? The earlier schedules of outdoor Boot Camp training will appeal to anyone who has the goal to get fitter and healthier, and someone who enjoys the challenge of exercising in varied climatic conditions – the spirit of adventure is the very essence of the Boot Camp phenomenon! However, as the seasons change and the nights draw in, common sense dictates that Boot Camp training will move indoors to ensure the safety of its participants.

Each session will comprise stretching, bodyweight exercises, partner assisted exercises, running drills and a few surprises that will help to get you into fantastic shape. Exercises are modified to fit your particular level of ability and the program is designed to progress your fitness session by session, so whether you are out of shape or as fit as a fiddle, this program will work for you.

For sure! You don't need to be in great shape to participate in Scheduled Fit Camp. It is my goal to get you to where you want to be so it doesn't matter if you presently struggle with a few press ups or crunches: the exercises in each session will be modified toward your particular level of ability and you will be progressed as the schedule rolls on. However, if you are in great shape already, you will not be inhibited either. Every Boot Camp participant will be motivated to perform to their optimum level of ability but at a pace that is appropriate to them.

You should actually be concerned about how much fat you will lose as overall body weight is actually irrelevant. That said, it would not be uncommon to lose around 1-2 lbs of fat mass each week. Before the camp commences you are encouraged take a number of measurements including weight, size (dress, waist, chest, hips, and thighs), and even a photo of yourself. As long as you train hard at the camp and maintain a healthy dietary regime between our sessions, you should shed unwanted body fat.

I am qualified to REPs (Register of Exercise Professionals) level 3 Advanced Fitness Instructor, have professional indemnity insurance and hold a current first aid certificate.

Each Fit Camp lasts for one hour - please call me for full schedule details. We only take limited numbers of participants at each camp to encourage bonding and to ensure that you receive the high level of instruction that is the very foundation of my successful one-to-one personal training business. My philosophy is to deliver variety, promote team work and to ensure that my programs will work at any level of fitness.

What happens if I do not show up, miss a session
or arrive late?
Answer
Boot Camp training works because it is about 100% commitment to getting results. There are no refunds for missed sessions. If you don't show up, I will assume that you have slept in or cannot make the session for whatever reason and will carry on regardless. If you are late you will be allowed to join in but expect to work extra hard. I would expect you to show me the same level of respect that you wish to enjoy yourself but because you will have such a good time and want the best results possible, it will not be in your interest to miss a single session.

Will I miss sessions if I am on holiday or have a work commitment?

If you have holidays, social commitments, or work commitments booked during the Fit Camp schedule that you wish to attend, providing you inform me of the date(s) and duration upon booking your place, up to one session in schedule B or two sessions in schedule A may be carried over to run consecutively as the first and second session of the next Boot Camp program, or a credit may be issued against the following schedule should you wish to stay within the group.

Do I need to bring anything with me and what should I wear?
Answer
Because you will be expending lots of energy you will need to bring plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated, a towel to wipe yourself dry and an exercise mat to perform stretches on: heavier vinyl coated mats are best for outdoor use as they are water resistant, easier to wipe clean and do not blow away in the wind. Please note that I will not be held responsible for the loss or damage of any valuables so you are advised to keep these to a minimum or better still leave them at home.
When it comes to clothing it really depends upon the prevailing weather. During warmer weather a T-shirt and shorts or tracksuit bottoms would be more practical. During colder weather a tracksuit or similar comfortable clothing is advisable, plus a hat, gloves, and a warm top for when you get back to your car post workout. As the seasons change and the nights draw in, Fit Camp training will move indoors so once again T-shirt and shorts or tracksuit bottoms would be more appropriate attire. Comfortable trainers are absolutely essential whatever the weather or location.

Is there anywhere to change?

Not during the warmer months as scheduled Fit Camp is an “at one with nature” experience in rural surroundings. However, once Fit Camp moves indoors, changing facilities will then be made available to you.

How may I pay for the camp?

Reservations cannot be made on intent alone. To reserve your place you need to pay by cheque, cash or bank transfer for the camp schedule that is made available to you Your payment must clear before the first session commences.

Buggy Boot Camp is a non-residential fitness program for recent mums, with relatively low fitness levels. My Buggy Boot Camp fitness programs are based around the successful format of my established Boot Camps but also incorporate your baby and their buggy. The programs are specifically designed to target the areas that most need addressing as a result of carrying your baby before child birth: pelvic floors, tummy, thighs, arms and bum.

Your baby is your number one priority. Please make sure to feed your tot before you arrive but if he/she needs attention you are free to do whatever is necessary to keep your baby happy.

As an added bonus you will be able to choose between attending on Tuesdays or Thursdays, or both days. As a result of this commitment you will not only benefit from a better rate than ‘pay as you go’ mums and be safe in the knowledge that your place at Buggy Boot Camp is secure for a whole schedule. In addition the other privilege of enjoying a reserved place at Buggy Boot Camp, you will also be able to take advantage of the rollover/credit facility explained above. Because this is not a one-to-one personal training program, Mobile Boot Camp does not include home exercise recommendations, a food/mood diary analysis or free consultation with body fat and hydration analysis.
